Who we are
Wknd is a service of Sayakaya B.V., based in the Netherlands. We are responsible for the data in this statement. Send questions or requests to hello@wknd.rsvp.
What data and why
- Logging in: your email address, to send you a login code. There is no password.
- Your profile: your name and, if you like, a profile photo. Others in your trip see them.
- Invitations: when an organizer invites you, we get your name and email address from that organizer. We then email you the invitation and, while the trip is on, messages about that trip, such as a reminder or the chosen date.
- The trip itself: your answer, the weekends you can make, your votes, badges, lists and comments. The other guests of that trip see them. Organizers also see the guests' email addresses.
- Expenses: amounts, who paid what and, if you add it, your IBAN. We only use your IBAN for the payment QR code shown to people who owe you money, and we store it encrypted. The money itself never goes through Wknd.
- Payments to Wknd: when an organizer pays for extra guests or AI, that goes through Mollie. Mollie tells us the status and the amount, no bank details.
- Your own OpenAI key: if you add one, we store it encrypted and only use it for your trips.
We use this data to provide the service you use (performance of a contract). For measuring visits to the website we ask your consent. Payment records are kept because the law requires it.
AI
We make texts and photos for a trip with OpenAI. For that we send the facts of the trip: place, dates, the size and kind of group, and what the organizer writes. We never send names or email addresses. If an organizer chooses to have a theme photo made with their own face, only that profile photo goes along. OpenAI does not use API data to train models and keeps it for at most 30 days to check for abuse. With their own key, the request goes through the organizer's own OpenAI account.
Who helps us
These companies process data for us, only for this purpose and under a data processing agreement:
- Hetzner (Germany): the server, the database and the photos.
- Brevo (France): sending email.
- Mollie (the Netherlands): payments to Wknd.
- OpenAI (United States): texts and photos, as described above.
- Cloudflare (United States): this website, and protection against attacks.
- Google Analytics (United States): visitor numbers for this website, only with your consent.
For the companies in the United States, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework applies, or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We look up place names with Photon by komoot (Germany); only the place you type is sent, not who you are.
Cookies
- On wknd.rsvp (this site): only with your consent, Google Analytics sets the cookies
_gaand_ga_…to see how many people visit the site and how they found it. They last at most two years. If you say no, Google measures without cookies, only that a visit happened. Your choice is kept in your browser. You can change it any time through Cookies at the bottom of every page. - In the app (app.wknd.rsvp): only the cookies needed to keep you logged in and the app secure. They last 30 days. They need no consent and we measure nothing with them.
How long we keep it
- A trip stays until the organizer deletes it. Its answers, votes, expenses and photos go with it.
- Your account stays until you ask us to delete it. We do so within 30 days.
- Records of payments to Wknd are kept for 7 years, as Dutch tax law requires.
- Visitor data in Google Analytics is deleted after 2 months.
Your rights
You may see what data we have about you, have it corrected or deleted, object, have its use restricted and take your data to another service. Email hello@wknd.rsvp and we reply within a month. You can also change your name and profile photo yourself in the app. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Security
Everything goes over an encrypted connection. You log in with a code by email, without a password. IBANs and OpenAI keys are stored encrypted, and only people in a trip see that trip.
Age
Wknd is meant for people aged 16 and over.
Changes
If we change something important in this statement, it shows here with a new date. If it affects you, we will also let you know.
